UNBOUND 2026 Day 1: What HubSpot’s Agentic Customer Platform Confirms About SpotOn’s Plan Produce Perform™ Approach
UNBOUND 2026 Day 1: What HubSpot’s Agentic Customer Platform Confirms About SpotOn’s Plan Produce Perform™ Approach
From Day 1 at UNBOUND 2026 (formerly INBOUND): What stood out above the AI-agent demos and the new product names was confirmation of something we believe to our core: marketing is a system, an engine.
HubSpot isn’t calling itself a CRM, as so many others do. It’s now calling itself an Agentic Customer Platform, or ACP.
It’s HubSpot saying out loud what a lot of us in this business have believed for a long time: marketing isn’t a project, a campaign, or a department that produces things on request. It’s an engine of inputs, machinery, and measurable output, running continuously. We built our entire agency around that idea. It’s why SpotOn’s framework has never been about one-offs. It’s a sequential system of Plan, Produce, Perform.
Watching HubSpot walk through the ACP architecture felt less like discovering something new and more like watching a buttoned-up system arrive, confirming that we’ve been building in an exciting, impressive direction all along.
HubSpot’s ACP
HubSpot framed the platform as a layered system:
-
A context layer built on the Smart CRM (structured customer data, unstructured conversations, business logic, and pattern intelligence pulled from HubSpot’s own customer base),
-
A coordination layer that governs how human and AI agents work together, and
-
An action layer where Marketing, Sales, and Service actually execute increasingly through Breeze Agents doing real, autonomous work.
The headline is that the platform is moving from “system of record” to “system of context.” Good AI output doesn’t come from a better model. It comes from better inputs of clean data, real business logic, and an understanding of what’s actually working before you act.
And our takeaway is that humans remain the decision-makers behind the inputs and the correct progression through the system. Tenured marketers provide better inputs, and better inputs lead to better outputs, regardless of who does the work or where it happens.
The same engine, described in software instead of methodology
Here’s where it lines up almost move-for-move with how we’ve run Plan Produce Perform:
|
HubSpot’s ACP |
SpotOn’s Plan Produce Perform™ |
|---|---|
|
Context — unified customer, business, and industry data as the foundation |
Plan — we don’t build a single asset until we understand your audience, your business logic, and your market |
|
Diagnosis — surfacing what’s working, what’s broken, and what to fix before anything gets built |
Plan — the audit and research diagnostic work that’s always been our planning phase, leading to a strategic roadmap |
|
Marketing Studio 2.0 & Agent Builds — the machinery that creates and executes, now with AI agents in the mix |
Produce — content, campaigns, and assets built, with the same rigor whether a human or an agent does the work |
|
Go-to-Market Outcomes — results measured against pipeline and revenue |
Perform — Assets deployed with outcomes tied to the metrics that actually matter |
HubSpot is productizing, in a fantastic way, a tried-and-true idea built on already-amazing technology. Context and diagnosis before you build anything. Real production machinery, not a content mill. Outcomes measured against revenue, not vanity metrics. That’s Plan Produce Perform, running inside a platform.
More than the acronym
It would be easy to read ACP as HubSpot chasing the AI news cycle, but this feels different when the platform you build campaigns in and the framework you plan them with are built on the same logic. Deployment of work gets faster, and the seams disappear.
Underneath the acronym is the promise of less time reconciling systems and methodology, more time on the work that moves the pipeline. For marketing leaders trying to figure out what “agentic” actually means for their team, day to day, the question worth asking about any tool is whether it diagnoses and expertly recommends before it produces, and whether it measures what it produces against outcomes that matter?
SpotOn at UNBOUND
We’re at UNBOUND as a HubSpot Platinum Partner. That partnership reflects how we think about marketing technology generally: a tool earns its place in the stack when it tightens the connection between marketing and sales and turns activity into performance data a team can act on, not when it adds another dashboard nobody opens.
We’re mostly agnostic about which CRM a client runs on - Plan Produce Perform is built to work with whatever stack is already in place. But HubSpot remains our preference, because the direction it keeps building toward is the same one we’ve built our agency around for years: less time reconciling systems, more shared context between the teams selling and the teams generating pipeline, and outcomes measured against revenue.
Next Steps
The best next step is building context - or letting us build it with you. As the features under AEO, Agent Hub, and Marketing Studio 2 roll out, the teams that benefit most will be the ones who’ve already connected their data, content, and channels into one system instead of stitching it together after the fact. That’s the work we do every day. If you want help building the context needed with HubSpot’s ACP, connecting the new capabilities, and deploying campaigns on top of it, let’s talk.
